Rock Bottom

Rock Bottom
These words can be so severe yet never make it to my ear
For denial is powerful and highs are just as mighty
But can this be? Have I met someone as tortured as thee?
For my mind wants to escape and listen no more
Yet her voice is earnest as she describes her disease
Stand up, stand up and dash out, the devil inside asks of thee
Yet my soul has chimed in and pleaded to accept this reciprocity
For her words alone has unearthed a chord within thee
And maybe now, we can face our maladies
