I was the only penny At the bottom of the well,
Waiting for another to be dropped
So my wish would come true.
It didn't even have to be another penny
It could have been a nickel or a dime
Feeling lonely and tired
I sat on the chilly, damp brick
Cold and alone
Hoping and waiting
Waiting for anything,
Not sure of what I wanted.
All I knew was that
What I felt in that moment
Wouldn't last forever
One day I would be someone's lucky charm
