Rocks Beneath Sand

Success, you've done it,
You've gotten the gold.
The silver is yours,
The diamonds shine bold.

You've gotten the gold,
But at what cost?
You feel just the same,
Have you actually lost?

It's tossed to the shore,
Now just rocks beneath sand.
You're sure you will soar,
You must just try again.

If only you saw,
If you could understand,
You've already won,
There's no need to try again.

For they know you can soar,
And you know you can try,
Yet your prize is beneath sand
While you're lost in the sky.
