Rollover Reaction

Life was just a rain delay between my fever dreams
In which I'm taller and can really get stuff done
I'm the only thinking man beneath the sun
Which did wonders for my self-esteem

Then you portamentoed in upon your seraphic sunbeam
Opalescent, a translunar glitter gun
I was dizzied by the wizardry you spun
You set to picking me apart at the seams

But breathing in the dull air of reality
The slow and damp monotony of truth
The illusions of ideals start to dissolve

I much preferred the you who was imaginary
So I've decided that's the one I'm sticking to
And the someone you once were, I can't recall
