Romeo’s Dead

Sweet death where are you? Come and embrace me.
Alive I am not unless my love is with me.
Do you dream of me in the land beyond life?
Are arms filled with only lonely sorrow as the moon awakes the night?
Does the sun burn you with morning unfair,
for you to awaken ;and find me not there?
I reach to touch you, but you have turned to cold stone.
Am I such a lost soul, now that I haven't your hand to hold?
Your eyes that had held mine now turned gray and look so far away.
Is there enough poison left on your lips,
enough that you could give me my life's last kiss?
As I press my lips to the love I knew, Lord I pray you have mercy.
Please let my life go swiftly so with him I'll be eternally.
