Roosters & Sunflowers

This morning I felt my life
like a burning candle, flickering,
as it opened its eyes, slowly
when my heart started beating.

While tired lungs inhaled
honeysuckle scented breeze,
exhaling in sleepy yawns,
the red rooster crowed.

My life sprouted arms and legs
its feet started walking,
and hands started grasping
feeling cold tile and mug
warm, as the sun rises.
