Rose

Fear does not touch my soul at your name’s call
I live and love as I am meant to do
And I always rise further than I fall
My life will end but not as prey to you

You snatch my loves from my life one by one
And then you taunt me with all those still there
You cause me to believe that you are done
And then you steal one more without a care

My life is young but my heart is so blind
This palpable hate and unseen true love
Imminent destruction of humankind
Carried by the song of a mourning dove

My time is so short but my death so far
So I am fearless Reaching for the stars.
