Rose of July

By Yun Yi

July, summer rain came
with unintentional harshness--

Thoughts evaporated
into humidity, which
permeated through my garden
where I saw a rose
blooming herself
under the gaze of daylight

She is naked
she is white
she is whiter than the winter moon
