The heads of roses begin to droop.
They can sense it.
The dark feeling whirling about,

the thick fog
that has sent everyone into a haze
of blame and asking why.

The roses feel it.
The pressure to stay tall and blooming,
to be a source of smiles and comfort.

But that is a lot to carry,
they are just flowers, you know.
