Roses

He was always there for me
His words were warm, loving, sweet.
He made my life seem worth it,
He wrapped my wounds when I was hit.
I became we,
Everything was thrilling.
My life was changed,
I surpassed my ceiling.
He held me close,
I was the one he chose.
The symbol of our love was a rose.

He was always there for me only if I had money.
His words were warm, loving, sweet, they came when I licked his feet.
He made my life seem worth it, then made my life seem worthless.
He wrapped my wounds when I was hit, wrapped them in his deadly spit.
I became we, We became I.
Everything was thrilling, until he broke apart my feelings.
My life was changed, but not for the better.
I surpassed my ceiling, and fell to the ground harder.
He held me close until I couldn't breathe.
I was the one he chose to cut me until I bleed.
The symbol of our love was a rose, but you know, roses wilt.
