Rough but True

His hands were rough like the desert floor,
With a personality we all adore.
But with a soul so pure and true,
Those hands could be so gentle too.
Made to nurture, built to protect,
A rebuilder of that which has seen neglect.
Don't judge a book just by its cover,
Inside there is a story to discover.
