Ruby-Emerald Eyes

The dragon
Ferocious teeth
Tough hide underneath
Sharp scales like knives
Death in it’s eyes
Flaming nostrils
Waiting
Waiting
To release it’s toxic breath
To finish me
But before the nostrils let out their flaming breath
I see a hint of sorrow
A tint of regret
In the ruby-emerald eyes.
As it lets out it’s breath
I exhale also
And as my arrow plunges Through it’s
Tough hide and
Knife-scales
I feel a hint of sorrow
A tint of regret
At forever losing those
Ruby-emerald eyes
