Ruler of the Night

You know nothing of outside
Abandoned by the world
No lessons left to learn
But still for peace you yearn

Bare branches reach for your skin
The touches of mist pull you in
Shadows rustle the rain soaked grass
The whispers of the shadowy mass

The creaking trees
The trembling leaves
The maddened screams
And ghostly hums of the moon

The silence is loud
The ring in your ears
Your destiny in the forest is clear
Your family lives as angels
But your heart stays here in the dark

Be not afraid
No feeling
No fright
You ruler of the night
