Runaway

There's a story that's often been told
Of a child running away very far
Leaving the home he's always known
To join the circus and be a star
He hangs upside down, walks up high
Contorts, flips, performs hand stands
Any unusual thing he will try
To please all his adoring fans
But his story is not the one I will tell
In this tale, the child still wants to run
But away from the upside-down spell
This circus everyone likes to call "fun"
Away from the wrong that is now right
From idolizing immorality and sin
Away from calling the darkness light
Dishonoring Yahweh over and over again
He's tired of the "beauty" of upside down
Hates that those who do good are silenced
He's ready to leave all the masks and clowns
Ready for evil to be vanquished
This child's story can end well, you see
If he keeps seeking that shining light
Because soon will come a conquering King
And an end to this circus
He will provide!
