It happened so fast
I couldn't control myself
Before I even knew what was happening
My world came crashing down

I felt like a ton of bricks
My life was in pieces
I had just lost my best friend
I didn't know what to do

I had to be brave
But I didn't know how
Along the way I found guidance
And it helped me see clearly

Although time has passed
My heart still aches
Every day it hurts a little less
And some days not at all

I will never forget my grandpa
Or the way he made me smile
I will cherish our memories
Until we meet again

This Poems Story

I am just an average everyday fourteen-year-old girl who loves to write poetry. Poetry has helped me get through some really tough times in my life. I chose to write this poem on my grandpa George, w ho passed away, because I love and miss him so much. It was hard for me to write this because whenever I think about my grandpa I cry. He made me feel loved and special. He means the world to me and I will never forget or stop loving him.
