Sailboat in the Snow

Like a toy lost in snow
Like a dream in a low fog,
Like a Hindu pyre without fire,
I would be lost in a world
Without you.

Like a monk with a mystic plague,
Like a closet drunk who’s just been made,
Like a lark in unsuspected shade,
There is no light in a world
Without you.

Beyond the world, the sun’s always shinning,
Beyond the planets, the night is never dark,
So grab your glass, grab your armchair too,
Past the sun, we will cruise, to a distant moon.

Like a prison with zephyr winds for bars,
Like a wall built from sculpted light,
Like a tale built of sacrificial myth,
I know no tale, I know no rhyme,
Without you.
