Sandy Hook

The day of December 14, 2012
Parents sending kids to school with kisses
Lunch boxes fill the many classroom shelves
Filled with words from Mom folded up with bliss

Parents never knew that was the last day
Their kids would come home on that yellow bus
Their empty hearts filled with the color grey
The hopeless parents trying to adjust

The 27 hearts that flew up to Heaven
The many friends that became small angels
The sad tears that flow at the names mentioned
The thousand dreadful and sorrowful faces

27 angels from Sandy Hook shooting
The millions of candles saluting
