Sapphire Eyes

Velvet tears seeping from sapphire eyes,
Secretly weeping for dreams passing by.
Caged within boundaries formed in her mind,
Playing the same words she heard on rewind.

Musical memories drowned in the lies,
Dwindling slowly to wisps in the sky.
Awake and arise from your gray-eyed haze!
See there is freedom and lift up your gaze!

But words are electric and can stop your heart,
Able to pin you-- and dreams to thwart.
And so she was caged in sublime servitude,
Sapphire eyes by the lies subdued.
