Saturdays are for the Boys

You were a friend of a friend,
A mutual acquaintance,
And you had seen me dozens of times on the phone.
You were always with her or that other girl,
The ones that didn’t like me.
You never said hi,
Or she would surely have a fit,
Then one day you said ‘I’m done’.
Then came one month,
Then another six,
And after a year together I still worry.
Does she still have a hold over you,
Or am I safe?
Endless nights of tears and fear,
I finally told you what's wrong.
You gave me a hug and told me not to worry,
But in the end, it’s all I can do.
After almost two years together,
I finally have a little bit of peace.
Those two girls are the last thing on my mind,
Now I just worry about being able to see him on Saturdays.
Because Saturdays are for the boys.
