Save Yourself

You remind me of a lemon tart
Freshly baked and set;
Sweet jelly heart
And a sharp sour taste.
All golden on the outside , a bit of snooty sass,
Gooey warm at the core
And a gentle aftertaste.
I'd meet you on a rainy afternoon,
And look to you for a smile.
But you're the kind that only smirks
And leaves me hanging for awhile.
You're not the delight of a chocolate cake
Or the comfort of a cookie,
But you're the difference I dare to crave
So take a chance on me?
