Savior

The break of day seems farther now,
And the edge of doom looms near.
The hellish tides sweep inland now
And I am caught in fear.

And as dread night moves steadily on,
And as the night grows colder,
And as fears deep press steadily on
And as the dark grows bolder,

Who shall issue a challenge forth?
Who shall my champion be?
Who shall into combat go forth
And bring to hope victory?

Who shall break the sealed tomb's bond?
Who shall darkness cast aside?
Who shall break black death's dreaded bond
With nailed hand and pierced side?
