Saying Goodbye..

I never seemed to call enough
or enjoy the time we had.

My home life got "too busy"
while yours was getting bad.

When I finally had to time, to call and check in
You were at a doctors appointment or in bed sick again

You asked grandma to try and hide the pain
cause you remember i'm sensitive and couldn't take it

When she finally spilled the beans,
I prayed every night that you would make it.

You and Grandma made it to 60 years being wed.
Now she has to sleep alone, in that big empty bed.

Grandpa, you were always my hero
and pilot and a vet

I wish I told you I loved you more
That is my biggest regret.
