SAYING GOODBYE TO MONICA

SAYING GOODBYE TO MONICA

You've gone away
our sister, mother, friend, lover.
You've taken flight
like a frightened dove,
and left some feathers
floating behind;
Which we have drifting
through our mind.
You left your nest early
for a much better place
to prepare us a home
when we end this rat race
We freely send
our heart felt love
to aid in your lonesome
flight above.
Look down on us kindly
with awakening grace
as you occupy our hearts
in a warm quiet place.
We'll say our goodbyes
and shed our tears
savoring your touches
from throughout the years.
Missing your touches
in the coming years.
