Scar cycle

These scars are invisible
For them to heal would be impossible
They may fade with time
Or bleed out into rhyme
But they will always remain
So I try not to let them show
Pretending that the world doesn't know
But they stare back at me through another's eyes
Uncovered like all my lies
They are bleeding again
Coming to the surface to blemish my skin
The truth is I've come to relish them
So I pick at the scab for another to begin
Torture myself into agony
Searching for the good to be found in me
Buried so deep I may never uncover
The reason behind my desire for this pain
I hang my head in shame
And wear these scars with disdain.
