Scared

Scared

Hold me tight as the lightning strikes
Wrap your arms around my shivering sight
Keep me warm as the rain pours down
I tell you, be careful not to drown
This must be just a nightmare, I think in my head
But as I pinch myself, my body’s still wet
Boom! Crash! Lightning strikes again
I shut my eyes as I hear you drop dead
I open my eyes, and tears pour
I drop next to your body as more thunder roars
I stroke your cheek and kiss it
But I’m still careful of the lightning, careful not to miss it
Suddenly there’s a blinding flash
I get thrown off to the side, thinking this is all happening too fast
I try to move but my body’s in pain
I see blood on my knee, smeared from the rain
There’s another flash
Crash!
I feel a bolt of pain in my side
And before I could even tell, I’ve died
I show up in heaven right away
And suddenly I see you, running my way
I run to you too, tears in my eyes
We embrace each other, and once again you hold me tight
