Scent of Grey

i kissed the top of the red petal, red as a red
the top of her head as warm opal
grey as yours

what did you have for dinner today
where did you run
did you grow anxious at the sound of the horn
did you wind down in sand
is it still time to wilt when light melds to blue
and time to wake when color rises
do you know it
can you see past the murky eye
is grass still grass
are windows a thing of the past will i feel better

you bloomed
while we were gone,
silly
