Scribes

Cold beds, with a wishful silenced phone,
Two fallen strangers halfheartedly walking in odd ways down the same road.
From the distant stars, to the tallest mountains,
Wavy as they roll, the party freaks banging on the door.
Twenty four and now sober, sitting alone on a sagging couch,
Are two shattered hearts, drinking the hand arounds.
'L' to the 'I' to the 'F' and then there's 'E'
With Fancy names and labels, they have lost who their real selves feel.

Grey hoods and black sleeves, clung to the martini glass
Forever Looking for ways to once get through and then far away from the past.
Tredding along the sidewalks, they look up and far ahead,
Eyes crossed but they acted like it was nothing instead.
Run Run Run, go take the nearest door,
Before they catch you with their cameras Mi Amor.
Build the tallest walls and get locked up behind,
Go away before the scribes start to write.

Face your deals as you wave the past goodbye,
If some one waves back, it meant you did something right.
And if no hand waves, and you can't find no friends
Try looking for excuses, so it hurts a little less.
Covered in ordinary diamonds, sitting in the fanciest airplanes,
Everyone knows your name, but doesn't it hurt not being able to watch the rains.
Tell me this story if you really find what you had been looking for all along,
And i'll clap for your guts or maybe even write you another song.

Dance in the sun, for the nights, they haunt,
Make a few wrongs, before even your shadow starts to taunt.
Pack up your bags, honey it's been way too long,
Their mouths won't shut and you would still stand alone.
Up in this city, you came this far from home,
Now the lensman are behind, so don't even think about the same roads.
Build the tallest walls and get locked up behind,
Go away before the scribes start to write.

So let's stay poised in here cause soon they will all find,
Go away before friends start to think twice
Who you were and what you meant all this time,
Let everything slip in an enigma and stop looking to find.
Build the tallest walls and get locked up behind,
Go away before the scribes start to write.
Go away before the scribes start to write.
Disappear before history takes you in its stride.
Go away before the scribes start to write.
Go away before the mightier finds the white.
Go away before the Scribes start to write.
