Sea of White


A fox, two sparrows, a sea of white
Sink, swim, float, swim, swim, sink again
You're struggling to breathe amidst the chalky surroundings
Floating, swimming, sinking thrice more
Fur, feathers, silence-
And you begin to calm
The snow now covers your eyes, stark view
I would pick you up, but I am lost as well
The snowy ground begins to melt
Lest you sink once more before it clears
I will be following suit
