Secondhand Tears

If only I had known your ways before you left me down the path
I'd probably do it anyway, a hopeless romantic as always
I think about you when it rains
Cause the sky cried when we said goodbye
A second passes and I cringe at the thought of your eyes
But I still look back for a moment to hear your last words
And try my best to not turn in distain
The image of your control is burned into my brain and
I must choose to pick up what remains
And only for a second, a moment
The thought of another chance makes it claim
And I often look back when the sky cried again
Do your boots still march on the wet land like you planned
Are you still holding someone else's hand
Back then when the sky cried
I did too
Like I caught its tears, secondhand
And I shook my head at the mention of second chance
