It's something for you,
Safe in your mind,
In a box that says,
"No one should see."

Lock it up carefully,
And throw away the key,
So no one ever can pry open,
The box, which holds your secret,
Safe and sound.

It's a weird thing,
A secret is.
Only known to the depths of your mind,
Its life must be so miserable,
Hiding all the time.

But be careful,
For the secret wants to get out,
And once it's out,
It's not a secret anymore,
And will spread to be much more.

This Poems Story

I really enjoy writing poems. I first got into writing poems when I was in third grade. I am now in seventh grade and still love writing. I also enjoy reading, swimming, writing stories, and playing music. My brother inspired me to write this poem. We were playing together one day and we started talking about secrets. I got the idea that I should write a poem about it. Secrets can be silly, dark, small, big, fascinating or intriguing and I found this an interesting subject to write about.
