Secure in Open Arms
Down from a cross with arms stretched wide
His loving gaze meets me
Wounds reach across a great divide
I'm tossing anxiously
I writhe and writhe in endless chide
Absorbed in scrutiny
He bids me "Come here, by my side"
I rise up suddenly
His arms, I hope, are still stretched wide
I hurry hastily
I go to where he is and find
An open door for me
And through the door I rest my mind
I sit down peacefully
I hear him say: "Don't look behind!
Abide inside of me."
And so I stayed inside his heart
I lived there happily
And on from thence a brand new start
And my security
