Seeking the Sun

There can be no corn without wheat
Is a saying by my ancestors
What were they trying to say?
What did they mean?
I picture tall cornstalks, reaching up into the sky
So high, so high
Green colors
Reaching up
To the blue heavens above
The sun
If they can be still
In the rain and the wind
And still seek the sun
So can I
So can I
Let the wind and rain fly
Still the cornstalks stand
Bend, maybe
Yet still they stay
Reaching, seeking the sun
If they can,
So shall I
So shall I
