Seems like Yesterday

It has already been a year.
My mind goes back to the last of December,
The Christmas music playing on the radio,
The lights, the tree, the cold breathe in the air.
How could you go?
How could you leave?
I drove like crazy, tears bursting out blurring the road.
The what ifs playing through my head.
I wish you were here, more than once I wanted to give you a call.
“Hey I’m in town let’s get something to eat, my treat.” Or “there’s a movie I want to see, you got plans, how about spending some time with me.”
These thoughts don’t stop even after a year.
I wish you were here.
