Self Portrait

I walked around in darkness looking for light
Until I realized that light is within
I always assumed if I had better tools
I could redesign a prettier world to live in
I stay reaching back trying to change the past
While time moves forward leaving me in the same place
This can't continue to last
I've walked pass too many doors
Believing there's a difference in the same space
If I knew better I would do better but my mind is a system enclosed
Nothing comes in Nothing goes out
My world was painted decades ago
And it's sealed into a frame my Mother chose
No it's not a pretty picture
But I hung it up anyway

This Poems Story

This poem pretty much sums up Who and What I was born to; adapting to my environment and being grateful for it, but still hoping for something more.
