My days are getting longer,
My nights are getting shorter
I stay up and I think of how
I'm going to survive when you leave,
Yes, I know you're leaving to fight for our country,
But I'm selfish and I want you to stay with me.
Everybody is selfish in their own way,
And my selfish way is wanting you to stay.
Without you here, my body will tremble in fear.
They will think I am fine with you not being here,
But in my eyes I will be missing your body I cry to touch,
Your voice I long to hear,
Your hands that still linger on my skin,
And your warmth I wait to feel.
