September

Early in the morning the school bell rings,
I hear the wind blow and the birds that sing!
I jump to the sound of the alarm clock "buzz"
I wipe away the eye gook and the belly button fuzz!
To the breakfast table fast as a blitz
I watch my baby brother as he drools and spitz!
Off to the school bus, tired and cranky
I yell a quick good-bye to my kitty cat Spanky.
Once on the bus, I sit right down
In a few minutes I'll do nuttin' but frown!
Into the building my friends and I walk
Listening to the principal and teachers' squawk!
"Pass out the papers! Open your books!
Wipe away the tears and the funny looks!"
"It's time to start! It's time to begin!
Once the bell rings, we are all in!"
