Serendipity

The things we do are inevitable
The things we see aren't
Look to your right to see the fortune of a mistake
Look to your left to see the mistake of a fortune
The burden holding up a sign with words dripping from the red paint
Destiny
A course of events
But it's the events that take the course
And the course that will take you
And bring with you nothing but an empty glass
Because to fulfill the emptiness with a mixture of your own recipe
is the sweetest taste
and the coordinates of the stars will align with
the coordinates of the small town setback you once faced
rewind you from destiny and drag you back to
the hopeless stance you once held
it is inevitable
but the things we see aren't
open up the original print and read between the lines
but don't just read between the lines
read the words
