Serenity

I gaze into the new morning's horizon,
Everything about it takes my breath away.
Across the sky, the rising sun dances slowly,
As the green dew covered grass is as still as can be.
The song of a lone bird awakens nature from her slumber.
I take all of this in, sitting propped against a large oak tree.
Here I am, simply awed by the beauty that surrounds me,
I can't help but wonder if this is what Heaven must be?
A place where there is no war, no violence, or even sadness,
Just the world as God, himself, had always intended it,
Perfect and in complete harmony.
