Serpentine

seven snakes around a tree
joyously bursting out in glee
a rat forsaken
death awakened
as they feast, his life was taken
simple jack was taken aback
his plan unveiled
derailed
for the creatures scaled
had blacked his mail
and whipped the tales
of life in a trend
to a never-ending
serpentine
all thoughts unclean
in the evergreen
but still, jack
had lost his shack
and was given no slack
for his stunning lack
of comprehension
of raising tension
of angels and demons
he was only dreaming
of a world teeming
with freedom and choice
where all may rejoice
without the stream
of the serpentine
