Servane

If love, heart-felt, were not its own reward
Then how does love last through the months and years?
Swear love's rewards are not for later stored!
but for the moment now with joy or tears.

The love we found was more than yours or mine;
But there for us to feel and live as ours;
Empowering us to live beyond our time,
As bees forever share the scent of flowers.

We built a home and to a child gave birth.
As growing comes from loving work and care
We know that love replenishes the earth.
Our work now done we still have love to share.

With no reward to follow us to death
With love we will surrender our last breath.
