Servitudes Gone For Women
Gone are days when women, young and old,
Were chained to servitudes--to go to bed,
To raise the kids, to tend the kitchens cold;
Their husbands breezed out, sprucely dressed and fed.
Gone are the days when women,strong and bright,
Were thought to be emotional and less
Intelligent than men,and instilled fright
To shrink from opportunities no less.
Indeed the days are gone when savage men,
Bereft of temp'rance, violently abused
Their lovely, docile wives at will and then
Enjoyed impunity--their wives contused.
Today are days of women's eminence;
They've broken jails of male dominance!
