SHADE OF SEA BLUE

Leaving moms house diaper bag packed but not yet ready to go
That cold winter night with ground soggy from melted snow!

Baby placed in car-seat peacefully sleeping as if subdued
Then grandma noticing lips turning shades of sea blue!

All quick to 4 wheels and driving 120mph to a 60-speed sign
Grandma in back performing CPR for a breath of life to fine!

On phone frantic with dispatch, as an ambulance is fast track to meet
Our vehicle flying with hazards on, down same flat stretch of concrete!

Both of us panicking to save our 2 month old baby daughter
Back seat is my mom in effort to calm a mother and father!

Ambulance now has a small lifeless breath heading to nearby hospital
Our baby girl urgently taken to NICU from a state of critical!

Aunts & Uncles, Family & Friends alerted to what had just happen
When my baby niece was saved from the quick thinking of those with compassion!

This Poems Story

This poem is about the panic my sister, husband, and mom/grandma felt. The night my baby niece stopped breathing as they rushed to the hospital midway being met by ambulance!
