I can't believe that it worked.
I shot at the shadow that lurked
In the light, and I got it!
I thought I would miss, but I shot it.
Now it lies in the light,
If I wait til the night
I can watch it crawl slowly away.
But I know if I stay
I might cry. Because even though I
Say I'm happy, I lie.
I never wanted that shadow to die.
The shot was a game; only a try.
I thought that my aim was much worse,
But it's not, and I curse
My decision; my try; my precision.
I needed that shadow alive.
