Shadows

In this dark time my eyes have begun to see
shadows that consume the light
to the point my peers are no longer free.
At times I feel as if I'm confined
in a prison deep within my mind.
In fact I myself am shrouded in darkness
and surrounded by these heartless
beings we call human
that are blinded by the ruin of our society
where there is no type of equality
but only reprobates displaying frivolity.
And once I try to provide some guidance
my voice becomes unheard
and is perceived as only silence.
