Shattered Diamonds On My Feet

When the rain dropped from my eyes like
purest diamonds in the
sunlight, shattering,
scattering into
the cardinals of
the earth below, scurrying
down
my feet.
Then I knew life had started with
me for
real.
Diamonds are not supposed to
break, but they broke from my
eyes. They broke, they
broke,
I broke.
