She gave a love so incomparable to anything physical.
She was the clearest body of water in many miles of desert.
She was creamy cocoa butter on the driest canvas.
She tasted of brown sugar in a world of salt.
She was soft cotton spread across a line of scratchy burlap.
She was the lantern to the world; the anchor to my wondering life boat
and the beat in my once humbled chest.
