She Is Me Part 2

I'm caught in a moment of sonder.
Surrounded in flickering lights,
I begin to wonder ...
if these strangers will make it home tonight.
They all scream with a smile.,
but this escape will only last awhile.
Moving with a sense of distorted reality,
I start to feel a bit sickly.
Just wanting to leave the shit behind ...
I've turned to plastic, trying to feel fine.
Crying to myself, head buried in a trash can,
I'm trapped all over again.
Thumb up. Taxi.
Just get me home safely.
I left her in the crowd.
She, I tried to drown out.
This was not supposed to happen.
Just let her know that I'm sorry.
