She Just Listens

Kariyia: There comes a time in everyone's life where we can’t seem to move away from the past, but we constantly feed upon it until it takes us over completely and then it just devours us whole. We let the those things defy us never wondering (both: why) we felt that way.
Both: She just listens
Alexis: she just listens to the painful thoughts circling her mind, constantly haunting her in her sleep
Kariyia: she just listens to the voices of the person who took away her trust in society
Alexis: She just listens to emotional feeling running through her veins every time she lays her head down to rest
Kariyia: She just listens to the headlines across tv reminding her about her past, never letting her go
Alexis: she just listens to her mind tell her to “stop resisting your gonna be okay” but deep inside she’s still hurting.
Kariyia: she just listens to the torturing words constantly following her everyday because she still remembers it all.
Alexis: She just listens to the person who drowned her innocence denying it all just to keep his name in the clear while she suffers everyday.
Kariyia: She just listens to the person who took her from everything she could ever love, for his selfish doings and now she’s left with scars and the the suffering pains.
Both: she just listens!
Alexis: She just listens to people she loved say she wrong.
Kariyia: She just listens to the harsh reality of
both: Of her past
Alexis: she just listens to the endless judgement of others
Kariyia: She just listens to the tears that she cry everyday.
Both: she just listens
Alexis: Stop it! Get out of my head, i’m better now, you won’t hold me back no more leaving me in fear.
Kariyia: Stop it! Get out of my head, i’m better now, you won’t keep me from living no more leaving me in fear.
Alexis: Stop it now! I can’t take it! Stop haunting me!
Kariyia: stop it please! These thoughts and these things are following me, there tearing me apart!
Both: (screams)
Both:Just stop it! stop it! Get out of my head, I’m better now! We’re better now!
Alexis: She just knows that she’s no longer a slave to assault.
Kariyia: She just knows that she’s no longer helpless and invisible to abduction.
Alexis: She just knows that there's a light at the end of the tunnel that doesn’t need her to listen but to see the bigger picture.

Alexis: Every 98 seconds an american is sexually assaulted and continues to live in fear.
Kariyia: Every 40 seconds a person has gone missing and continues to live in fear.
Both: but no more will we be victims, we are survivors. No more!
Kariyia: She just
Alexis: knows
Both: not to listen
