She Runs
The blue blinds her spirit sad
through the cloudless sky above
and in her mind she thinks, she was never enough
The green stains her scars deep
across the field far and wide
and in her eyes she cries, her tummy aches inside
The ground stiffens her heart
below her feet she moves
and within her pain she knows, she feels the truth
The wind carries her forward
through confusion she lets go
and after releasing the memories, now she's on her own
With her head down
cars all around
she runs to fight the tears
With her eyes closed
she steadies her toes
she runs to fight the fears
The sun brightly shining
on this moment defining
as she runs to fight the years
