She Stands

She stands, told she hits like a girl
She wrings her hands, she is caught up in the swirl.
She stands, told her skirt is too short
She puts down her hands, she needs support.
She stands, as they side with the male
She clenches her hands, she feels like she failed.
She stands, they call her a nerd
She hides her hands, she just wants to be heard.
She stands, they call her too fat
She clenches her hands, there’s no coming back.
Does it make you happy to bring her down?
She will not break, she will not fall
Does it make you smile to see her frown?
She will not shake, she will stand tall.
She is an outcast on this Earth
She is told to be quiet, to not say a word
It has been this way since birth
Watch her now, watch her burn
But she stands, she has hope
She lifts her hands, she will not moap.
She will Stand
Rearrange
Joining hands
Things will change.
